Windows cannot find or read a file it needs to start, usually the boot configuration (BCD).
How to fix it
- Make a Windows install USB on another PC with Microsoft's Media Creation Tool.
- Boot from it (see the BIOS key page for your boot menu key) and choose Repair your computer > Troubleshoot > Startup Repair.
- If that fails, open Command Prompt there and run:
bootrec /scanos, thenbootrec /rebuildbcd(on UEFI PCs,bcdboot C:\Windowsis often more reliable).
Is it serious?
Fixable without losing files in most cases.
